Biography

After the death of his father in 1918 when Leonard was 19 yrs old he took over the family fishmonger business in Golborne Road, Kensington and ran the business until moving to Chiswick in 1933. At some time during WW2 he became the landlord of the Norfolk Arms Hotel in Fulham and he remained landlord until about 1949. According to his second wife Edith he was always cheerful, whistled a lot, and enjoyed chatting to customers. Unfortunately as a result of his heavy drinking he suffered a sudden haemorrage of the gastric varices and died at age 54.
