Biography

The first name of Marguerite, the mother of Richard J Quinn, has been determined based on her son's marriage record.^[1] No record has been found, however, that identifies her maiden name or the date or place of her birth. Based on the date of birth of her son Richard (1863), Marguerite was probably born sometime between 1821 and 1844. The 1900 census record for son Richard states that her place of birth was Ireland.^[2] A record for the marriage of her son Richard in a New Hampshire marriage index compiled by FamilySearch states that Marguerite's maiden name was Frank. However, this appears to have been an error and the name Frank was mistakenly copied from the first name of Richard's father-in-law Frank Keenan.^[3][1]

Based on the birth of her son Richard in Quebec, Canada in 1863,^[4] Marguerite immigrated to Canada from Ireland sometime before that date.

Marguerite married John Quinn.^[1] Based on Richard's date of birth (1863), Marguerite and John were probably married sometime between 1843 and 1863. Since their son Richard was born in Quebec, Canada in 1863,^[4] Marguerite and John were probably married in Quebec.
