Biography

Billa was born in 1774.^[1] He was the son of John Franklin and Lydia Doolittle.^[2][3]

He married Lucy^[4][5][6][7] and the couple had the following known children:

1. Solomon Franklin was born about 1821, died 16 May 1841 and is buried in Clark Cemetery, Murray, Orleans County, New York.^[1]
2. Albert H. Franklin was born about 1827 in New York.^[6][7]

Billa died in Medina, Orleans County, New York^[4] 02 Jan 1849 and is buried in Clark Cemetery, Murray, Orleans County, New York.^[1][8]

   On 2 February 1774, John Franklin married Lydia Doolittle (born in Canaan, Conn., 13 August 1751, and the following spring they moved to Wyoming, PA., and settled in Plymouth. They were the parents of:

   1. ) Billa Franklin, born Nov 3 1774 in Plymouth, Pennsylvania, settled first in Palmyra, NY. and afterwards to St. Albans, NY where he died. He was the father of nine children.
   2. ) Dr. Amos Franklin, a physician by profession, born Jun 4 1776 in Plymouth, Pennsylvania, settled at Cayuga, NY. and died there on 11 Oct 1804. Amos was the father of one son; Henry who died childless.
   3. ) Kezia Franklin, born Apr 11 1778 in Huntington, Pennsylvania, married Dr. Solomon Beebe and settled at Geneva, NY and died without children.
