Henry Franks was a Virginia colonist.

Henry Franks was born about 1595 in England. His parents, exact birth date and location are at this time undetermined. He is said to have died about 1650 in Northumberland County (Westmoreland in 1653), Virginia; this is unconfirmed.

It is uncertain when Henry immigrated to Virginia Colony. This entry in Nugent may apply to him:

  • Richard Slaughter, 200 acs. Nanzemond Co., 30 May 1653, p. 17. Trans. of 4 pers: Wm. Clarke, Samll. Crane, Richd. Patridge, Hen. Franke.[1]

Research Notes

No baptism found at Danby 1598 or near. The only Ancestry tree found with this date shows a source which is for the exact same date, but in Calverley,70 miles away, of twins Thomas and William sons of Henry Frank.[2][3]

Based on above Notes and information found in online family trees, birth date and place of 11 June 1598 in Danby, Yorkshire, England, has been changed to "about 1595" in England. Name "Christopher Henry Franks" has been changed to just "Henry Franks." Source used in ancestry.com family trees for "Christopher Henry Franks" refers to an individual by this name who immigrated to the United States in the 19th century from Germany. No source has yet been located for "Christopher Henry Frank/Franks" in Virginia in the 17th century, only "Henry Franke." (Strutton-11 15:37, 27 August 2022 (UTC))
