REVIEW "Lemuel Franks/ Samuel Franks": several Lemuels and several Samuels exist and are posted in FamSearch and Ancestry; verify correct Spouse of Hulda Gann, and Father of her children, (which include John Richard Franks, Sr. (m. to Martha Elizabeth PACE)). A "Nancy Clark" appears in a few notations and posted documents as 1st wife of Lemuel Franks; however, I think this is referencing Lemuel Lawrence Franks; Verify her Spouse; Verify Lemuel Frank’s parents, Peter Buren Franks and Elizabeth Richardson?, and verify correct matching placement.

  • John Richard Franks, Sr. was born in 1851 in Marion County, Alabama, United States. John Richard was the youngest of sixteen children born to Hulda Jane Gann and Samuel/Lemuel Franks. In 1870, John Richard Franks and brother Samuel Franks are working as laborers on Reaves farm near McNairy County, TN. A year later, in 1871, McNairy County, TN, John Richard Franks married Martha Elizabeth Pace. John and Martha had four children, John Richard, Jr., Robert Lee, Sallie/Sarah, and Callie Bell Franks. REVIEW John Richard Franks, Sr. died March 1926 in Dorsey, MS, and was buried in Keyes Cemetery, Itawamba County, Mississippi.
