Biography
Matilda Franks was born about 1842 in Marion County, Alabama to Lemuel and Huldah Franks. Her father's name is mistranscribed as Samuel in the 1850 census. She does not appear in the 1860 census.
There is another Matilda Franks contemporary to this Matilda. She was born in Mississippi (probably Itawamba). Her father's name is Charles and her mother 's name is Kisiah. She married Lemuel Watts in Itawamba.
Some have confused Matilda born in Alabama with Matilda C. born in Mississippi. I have found no further records for Matilda of Alabama. She must have died young.
