Biography

Born 1762 Lancaster County, Pennsylvania per cemetery memorial, abt 1761 Botetourt County, Virginia per Franz et al (1996, vol III p 416) is improbable since his father Michael Frantz Jr didn't move to VA until 1784-1788.

"Christian Frantz was the ... son of Michael and Magdalene (Zug) Frantz, and grandson of Michael Frantz, the first elder of the Conestoga [German Baptist Brethren] Church in Pennsylvania. Elder Christian Frantz came to Ohio with his nine children in the fall of 1814, and settled three miles west of Springfield. He spoke and wrote only in German. ... [He] was the second elder at Walnut Grove or Donnels Creek. In this office he also was in charge of the Hickory Grove and Lost Creek territories. ... [Christian] died March 6, 1850, and is buried in Myers Cemetery, Clark County, Ohio." (Frantz et al 1996, loc it, quoting "Roots By The River", p. 178.)
