Biography

Hugh Fraser ...

  • 1617 Married Katherine daughter of John MacKenzie of Gairloch. She was still living in 1637. They had six sons and four daughters.
  • Served as heir to his father 21 April 1620
  • On November 26th, 1636, Lord Lovat grants to Hugh Fraser of Belladrum (d. c1656) a feu farm charter of the town and lands of Belladrum[1]
  • Sheriff of Inverness under Thomas Fraser of Strichen[2]

Hugh was born in 1590.

McQueen-2983 Don McQueen
Fraser of Belladrum-2 and Fraser-1564 appear to represent the same person because: After much searching I believe these two Hugh Frasers are the same, Fraser of Belladrum-2 and Fraser-1564 both are married to Katherine MacKenzie ( Mackenzie-3455) what confused me was the numbering of the Belladrum Frasers as per source History of the Frasers of Lovat pages 626-628 chapter on the Frasers of Belladrum they start with James as the first not his son Hugh.
