Christine was born Feb 1862 in Nova Scotia, Canada[1] to Daniel Fraser and Jessie Ross. She immigrated to Massachusetts, USA from Nova Scotia, Canada between 1876 and 1880. 1900[1], 1910[2], and 1920[3] US Census records give the dates as 1800, 1876, and 1878 respectively. She was naturalized as a US citizen in 1881.[3]
After coming to Massachusetts, she met and married Samuel Massey[4], an immigrant from Ireland. The couple settled in Cambridge and gave birth to five children including two daughters who died young. She was widowed at an early age after her husband died of heart failure.[5]. She never remarried, and remained living with her daughter and son-in-law in Cambridge until her death in 1931. She was buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery in the family plot.[6]
