James Fraser (63) is listed on the 1871 census as a Farmer born in Nova Scotia, of Scotch heritage. His wife Isabella (53) is on the following page of the census and is also Nova Scotian of Scotch heritage. All children born in Nova Scotia; Mary Bell (24), Hugh (22) and Alexander (12).
James Fraser (68) is on the 1881 census as a widower. He was a Farmer born in Nova Scotia of Scotch heritage. Children Mary Bell (35) and Alexander (22) are also listed with him.
Hugh (42) is listed in 1891 with wife Helen (40) and a nephew John D (11). The residence just before is that of his brother Alexander (32) with wife Eliza (31) and children; James A (6), Jessie M (4) and Flossie J (2). All are listed as Farmers.
There is a wrinkle here as Alexander is listed as "Alexander Jr", there is an "Alexander Sn" (63) listed above with Sarah (67) and Ann (65) both listed as sisters along with Allison Brown (32) a domestic. I would assume these are unmarried Uncle and Aunts to James, and Hugh. Another possibility would be the 3 siblings (Alexander Sn, Sarah and Ann) are James A. Fraser's children from a previous marriage.
