Biography

Alexander was born about 1360, the son of Sir Alexander Fraser, 1st of Philorth, and Margaret Gordon of Haddo. He married Helen Stratton.

Birth of Alexander of the Water of Philorth, born about 1387, Castle Fraser, Scotland.

1402, joined forces with Prince Henry of England ( Prince of Wales) and King Henry IV of England at the frontier town of Shrewsbury to fight in the Glendower uprising. Captured by Owen Glendower after saving the life of Prince Henry.

According to the text he was son of Margaret Gordon of haddo. That is stated in the Barclay allardyce ,charter chest ,dated c.1700titled a généalogie ouf, the barons in the mearns of late memory descending linearly unto the year of god 1578 .(the miscellany of the third Spalding club.II Aberdeen 1940:p.219) hereinafter “Barons”. However she is not mentioned in the top section. Possibly Alexander II was the illegit sonne of Alexander I and Margaret Gordon of haddo
