Biography
Roderick was born on 7 October 1810 at Pictou, Nova Scotia. He was the son of Murdoch Fraser and Margaret Mackay.
He married Marcella McLennan in 1837 in Nova Scotia. They had at least nine children.
He emigrated to New Zealand on the Breadalbane leaving Nova Scotia on 24 December 1857 with his wife and nine children[1].
Roderick Fraser established a flour mill in Waipu[2].
He died on 18 September 1883 aged 73 years[3][4] at Millbrook, Waipu, Northland, as was recorded in the Evening Star newspaper on 24 September 1883[5]

He was buried in Waipu Cemetery, Northland[6].
