Mary (Freeling) Milne was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

Mary Ellen Freeling was born on 22 Dec 1860 in South Yarra, Colony of Victoria, daughter of Henry Frieling (1833–1870) and Mary Megempsy (~1822–~1895).

Mary married Edward Milne (born about 10 Oct 1863 in Dunnichen, Angus, Scotland; son of David Clark and Betsy Milne). Their children were:

• Betsy Mary Milne (abt. 12 Oct 1890 – 7 Nov 1933)
• Eva Jean Milne (abt. 11 Feb 1892 – 4 Nov 1954)
• Maud Evelyn Milne (abt. 17 Nov 1894 – 18 Jun 1965)
• Edward Henry Milne (1896 – May 1956)
• Barbara Christie Milne (15 Jul 1899 – 5 May 1956)
• Hilda May Milne (9 Aug 1901 – 25 Aug 1971)
• Dorothy Ada Milne (abt. 2 Jan 1904 – 16 Oct 1962)

Inscription on grave at Gormandale Cemetery reads: “In loving memory of my dear wife and our mother Mary Ellen Milne Died 4th August 1930 Aged 70 years. Also Edward loved husband of above Died 21st May 1946 Aged 83 years.”
