- "Eleanor, called herself Ellen. She was born at Mitchell, Ontario in 1856, not at Colpoys Bay. I am a great granddaughter of Thomas Freeman and Sarah Shean. My grandfather, James Freeman, was a younger brother of Eleanor and was the first to come west and settle at Tisdale, Manitoba circa 1881.
