William R. Freeman son of William and Mercy (Schoonover) Freeman was born January 11, 1835[1] in Pennsylvania.[2]
He married Esther Cooper, daughter of Jason and Maria (Champlain) Cooper,[3] about 1856.[2]
He was a private in the Co. D, 207 Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment during the US Civil War.[1]In 1870 William, Esther and their seven children were living in Chatham Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. William was a farmer.[2]
Esther died in 1896 and was buried at Riverside Cemetery, Knoxville. Her memorial has some biographical material and photos.[4]
William died in 16 Dec. 1934 and was buried at Riverside Cemetery, Knoxville. His memorial has some biographical material, a photo including one of his headstone with birth and death dates and civil war service, as well as link to that of one of his sons.[1]
