John & Emily had 6 children Myrtle, James, Gladys, Cecil, George, Jack.
Emily is buried with her husband at Karrakatta
Emily ran boarding houses in her fifties in Kalgoorlie. Searches of historic newspapers showed that she had numerous disagreements with employees and was taken to court accused of slander. Emily must have had a good lawyer, she always seemed to beat the charges.

Her granddaughter Beryl Dennis remembers visiting her farm which was about 5 miles away on another part of the farmon Sundays with her father & recalls her feeding the turkeys she reared. She also recalled her fibbing about the dolls she had in her house which originally belonged to her daughters Myrtle & Gladys being taken by one of the workman!!I Can't remember her being a very happy person. Beryls mother did not get on with "Nunny" a strained relationship.
