Biography

Elisha was born in Sept. 7, 1786, the son of Peleg Freeman and Hannah Deane[1]

Circa 1810, he married Maria Coville[2], and they had children, including:

  1. Zenas, born Sept. 7, 1811, who died April 14, 1835
  2. Jabez, born Feb. 24, 1813 ; who married Hannah Morton Oct. 18, 1842
  3. Lydia, born Jan. 19, 1815 ; who died June 25, 1836
  4. Elizabeth, born Aug. 13, 1816; who married James McLannery (McLearn?)
  5. John Tupper, born Aug. 24, 1818 and died in 1902; who married Sophronia Freeman and had children in Watertown, Massachusetts, USA including:
    1. Theresa, Sept. 3, 1848
    2. James Smith, Sept. 4, 1851
    3. Mehitable, Sept. 1, 1854
  6. Cynthia, born Sept. 3, 1820; who married James Park
  7. Adelia, born May 22, 1822; who married Lewis Smith and died in 1872[3]
  8. Reuben G., born Jan. 19, 1824
  9. Asenath, March 22, 1826, who married John Leonard
  10. Zohith, born Dec. 15, 1827, who married Lucy Freeman in 1869[4]
  11. Maria, born March 21, 1830, a twin, who married Elkanah Morton
  12. Mehitable, born March 21, 1830, a twin
  13. James Barss, born March 25, 1833

Elisha and Maria lived in Pleasant River NS. According to family sources he died died May 12, 1842[5]
