Death Certificate shows DOB as 1871 but the informant was Mrs. Ola Choate, someone who didn't know her parents names, so most likely got the year of birth wrong. The DC does show she was a widow.

I searched for the marriage record/license for Maggie E Freeman and Benjamin Richard Crowson in Houston County, Texas. The clerk stated that they didn't have it. They had a fire in 1865 & also in 1882. I show their marriage didn't occur until 1893 so I tried Trinity County, Texas. I received a letter from them stating that no record was found. So I am at a loss on where the marriage was held or when. The date of 30 Nov 1893 in Crockett, Houston County, Texas comes from ancestry.com members with no source or proof listed. I hope I am not wrong by leaving it here in hopes that it would help us locate the record. For now, I will be using the headstone located on FindAGrave.com as proof of marriage.
