Biography

Mary French, the daughter of William and Sarah (Danforth) French [1] was born at Billerica, Massachusetts on October 7, 1709. [2] [3] [4]

Mary married Benjamin Manning at Billerica on January 16, 1729/30. [4] [2] Benjamin Manning was born at Cambridge, Massachusetts on March 10, 1704/5, son of John Manning and Sarah Spalding. [5] [6]

Together they had 11 children. [3]

Benjamin died at Billerica on September 30, 1779. [6]

After his death widow Mary Manning and her daughter removed to Townsend, Massachusetts. Mary died there on October 4, 1782. [6] [7]

Mary was buried in the Old burying Ground at Townsend where her inscription reads: In Memory of Mary Manning the Wife of Benjamin Manning of Billerica She Departed this Life Oct. ye 4 1782 Aged 73 years Wanting 13 Days [6]
