Biography

Patience French was born on August 23, 1681, in Topsfield, Massachusetts, the ninth listed child of John French and Phebe (Keyes) French.

She married JAMES FAIRMAN in Enfield, Connecticut, Aug. 3, 1711. They had at least five children during their marriage:

  1. James Fairman (1713-1790), b. 7 May 1713; married 5 Jan 1739/40 Johannah Stebbins of Springfield
  2. John Fairman, b. 31 Mar 1715; removed to Wilbraham, Massachusetts [Possibly this person is profiled as John Fairman (1710-1778)]
  3. Joseph Fairman (twin) (16 May 1717 - 18 May 1717)
  4. Benjamin Fairman (1717-1760) (twin), b. 16 may 1717; married 1) 11 Nov 1742 Hannah McGregory (1719-1749); 2) 8 Mar 1749/50 Abigail Bement (1726-1772)
  5. Richard Fairman Sr. (1719-1775), b. 21 Sep 1719; removed to Newtown

Patience (French) Fairman died in 1750 in Enfield, Connecticut, at the age of 69.
