(note from Jon Couts: this source seems dubious. It lists 1 male over sixteen, 4 males under sixteen, and 2 females. That seems like a pattern belonging to a farmer and his young family, not a man who is 68 years old.)

(note from Jon Couts: this source also seems dubious. How do we know this is the right Henry Frey? His household has one male over 45, two males 16-25, one male 10-15, and two males under 10. There is one female over 45, one female 10-15, and one female under 10. I think this is the same young family from the 1790 census cited here, and not our 78 year old patriarch.)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Johannes by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Johannes:

Frey-3783 and Frey-238 appear to represent the same person because: duplicate created by mistake

This is my take on what needs to be done:

Dorothea Bopp and Dorothea Pope need to be merged and then merged with John Fry's wife Dorothea.

Maria Catherina needs to be removed as a wife.

Catherina and Susan Catarine need to be merged.

Millicent O'Neal and her children need to be attached to a new, unrelated John Fry.

Johann Heinrich's death date needs to be changed, as it seems to be based on John Fry's death date and not his own. 1768 seems to be the latest date we know he is alive.

Sound good? If everyone agrees, I think we'll be set to start.

Appreciate your efforts to clean up this profile. Have you made any progress since this post? It seems that there's work to be done to sort through the various DNA results to see who is actually connected. Are there any reliable lists for the children of this profile? There are enough Frey y tests to compare results if we can find some male Frey descendants from the children.

Thanks

There's another record of the Frey-Schaeur marriage in this book:

Stoever, Johann Casper. Early Lutheran Baptisms and Marriages in Southeastern Pennsylvania the Records of Rev. John Casper Stoever from 1730 to 1779. Baltimore, MD: Clearfield, 2006.

Find online here: https://books.google.com/books?id=54amMIKBRQEC&d The record in question is on page 60.

This looks like the Frey-Schauer marriage record: "Pennsylvania Marriages, 1709-1940," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V26D-KHN : 11 February 2018), Henry Frey and Catharine Schauer, 30 Aug 1743; citing Little Tulpehocken Or Christs Church Evengelical Ljeffers,Jefferson Twp,Berks,Pennsylvania; FHL microfilm 20,528.

The date and names are right, but it's a different township than listed in the current bio (but then the current bio is not well sourced).

The original microfilm is viewable at a Family Research Center; there is one pretty near me and I should be able to get to it in the near future.

It is in German. One of my friends has a degree in German from Yale; she's going to take a crack at it for me. Johann Michael Schauer is Catherine's father; there's a good chance there will be a reference to Johann Heinrich in there. Or maybe not; that would tell us something too.

I don't have anything at all about a Dorothea (Pope or Bopp). Nor do I have anything about a Schauer. I am only aware of a marriage with O'Neal.

I can't read it either. Maybe in German?

Who is Johann Michael?

This is Johann Michael's will. I can't read it. It might be helpful for sorting this out. I'm not sure it's even in English.

Two Shauers are the same woman and I've put in for them to be merged. He didn't marry Maria Catherina and we need to remove her from his list of wives.

I suspect both Dorothea Bopp and Dorothea Pope are the same person, too, but neither of them are well sourced. Do we have any sort of source saying that Johann Frey was married to a Dorothea?

Fry-2710 and Frey-1639 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, same birthday, same bio, same parents, same wife. The death dates are not the same but neither of them have a source I can check.
