Biography

The Life and Varied Occupations of James F. Frey

  • Born on 10 November 1870 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania[1]
  • His first Wife was Mary Emma Auxer; and the marriage ended with her death, 7 Nov 1919.
  • His second Wife: Lacy Shertzer Frey, was 10 years younger than he was, and she outlived him.
  • In his lifetime he was a Machinist, Watchmaker, Pressman, Confectioner and at one point had a Livery business.
  • Death came to him on 19 May 1937, in the town he never left, Lancaster, Pennsylvania
  • He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery on 22 May 1937 with his 2nd wife, her mother and her siblings. See FindAGrave Memorial #116288464

  • He was the son of Jacob and Caroline Hanneum Frey and had a livery business at 214 West Grant and at 17 West Mifflin in Lancaster. He was a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church. Information can on him can be found on page 1276, Biographical Annals of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; containing biographical and genealogical sketches of prominent and representative citizens and of many of the early settlers.
