Biography

Louis Fruge was born to Pierre Antoine Fruge and Susanne Burns on 3 June 1806[1] and baptized 12 July 1806 at St Landry Church in Opelousas.[2]

He appears to be the unnamed child of Pierre Fruge who was buried on 29 October 1809 at the age of about 4 years.[3] This is further supported by the 1810 census of his family where there is only one male child under the age of 10.[4]

Please note that The Fruge's of Fakaitaic has him marrying Marie Louise Celeste Teal,[5] but that is the son of Nicolas Fruge and Marianne Oliver according to the marriage record for Louis Fruge and Marie Louise Teal.[6]
