Augustin Joseph Fruge appears to have been born before the year 1775, based on 1788 census of Plaquemine Brulee listing Widow Fruge (his mother) with 2 males in the 13-49 year age group, 1 women, and 1 girl plus 1 freed female or negro.[1]
Denise Fruge born 14 November 1818 [10] and reportedly had wed Jean LeBlanc before her father's succesion[11], but that would make her too young.
Onesime Fruge born 18 November 1820.[12] Oddly Onesime or Lezime as he is sometimes called is not listed in his father's succession.[11] However we know he is still alive as he wed Elizabeth Savoie in the 1840's[13] and ended up dying in the Civil War.[14]
Augustin reportedly died in 1823 and cites his probate #435[5] which is dated June 1827 and lists only five of his children.[11] Oddly it also lists marriages which have not yet taken place.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Augustin by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Augustin:
