Baptized with the name Laperle, Pearl was born 20 February 1893 in St. Landry Parish, LA.[1] However, her gravestone is engraved with the birth date of 20 Jan. 1894.[2]
She married Louis Lantz sometime between 1910 and 1917 when he filled out his draft registration indicating he was married with children.[3] At the time of the 1920 Census they were in Acadia Parish and had a five year old daughter named Carrie and a 3-year old son named Webster.[4] By the time of the 1930 census, their family had grown by one more, a daughter named Bernice who was 8 years old that year.[5]
