William seems to have married Celeste Janis sometime after the 1850 census as he is living alone as a planter at the time of the 1850 census.[2] I'm currently unable to find Celeste in the 1850 census.
Interestingly in the 1860 census there is an 11-year old Aurore Fruge living with the couple. [3]
July 10-11, 1860 US Census of Hickory Flat, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana
Dwelling #137, Family #139
William Fruge-36, Celeste-37, Aurore-11, Zoe-6, George-4, Alfred-2.
Celeste's mother and brother live in neighboring dwellings.
William appears to have died before the 9 June 1870 census as Celeste is listed as Mrs. William Fruge.[7] The record also uses the name Narcisse twice, but with the exception of Moises (who is called Narcisse) and Aurore, all of the children are listed as follows: Mrs. Wm. Fruge-45, Zoe-14, George-12, Alfred-10, Aureline-8, Narcisse-6, Narcisse [sic for Moses]-5.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
