Napoleon Joseph Antoine Fruge was born 24 November 1828 to Antoine Pierre Fruge and Euphrosine Hebert and was baptized at St Landry Catholic Church on 7 November 1828.[1]
They had three children together in Louisiana, Lastie, Leontine & Amelie, and one more in Texas, Josephine , where they moved about 1860[3] Joseph died during the civil war in the year 1863 while serving in Texas's 25th Regiment, Company H.[4][3]Another child, Jodiel is often attributed to him, but according to the 1870 census he was born in 1867 so this does not seem like he can be his child.[5] And in the 1880 Census that son is listed as Lajolie Dagle.[6]
