Sarah Matilda Fry was born in 1834 in Cotham, Bristol, England, United Kingdom, daughter of Francis Fry (1803–1886) and Matilda Penrose (1809–1888). [1]
Sarah (23) married Stationer Robert Barclay (23) (born 1833 in Croydon, Surrey, England; son of John Barclay (1797–1838) and Mary (Moates) Barclay (1796–1876)) in 1857 in Bristol. [2] Their known children were:
- Juliet Caroline Barclay (30 January 1867 – 1913)
- Agatha Barclay (14 February 1868 – unknown)
- Florence Barclay (1869 – 1955)
- Marion Ford Barclay (17 September 1870 – 16 February 1952)
- Robert Barclay (23 August 1871 – unknown)
