Benjamin Fugate is born 1755 in Frederick, Virginia, United States. He is a son of Martin Fugate and Sarah Clark.

Martin was one of the "Blue Fugates". It is a blood disorder called "Methemoglobinemia". Fugates carry the recessive gene which is expressed every now and then with a blue baby.

Benjamin marries Hannah Devers in 1778.

Benjamin and Hannah had maybe up to 11 children (possibly more). The list of children varies according to the source. They had two male twins who were killed by Indians (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/36694119/twin_infants-fugate) Three of their children married into the McIntosh family: Franky, Catherine and Henley. The Fugate and McIntosh families moved together from VA to KY and settled together into the Troublesome Creek area.

He dies 1838 in Perry, Kentucky, United States. He is buried in Neace & Noble Cemetery in Ned, Breathitt, Kentucky, USA.[1]
