Catherine Mary Fulford was the oldest child of Jane Curry and William Gibson Fulford. She was born in Nassau, Bahamas 15 October 1814. She was baptized 10 July 1815 at St. Matthew's Church.
Catherine Mary Fulford married John McSwiney, teacher/adninistrator, 17 November 1836 at Christ Church, Nassau. The couple had five children before her untimely death in Barbados: Jane Ann; Catherine Henrietta, Ellen Maria, Mary Elizabeth, and John William McSwiney. She was 36 years of age.
"On the 27th October, at Bridgetown, Barbados, Catherine Mary, wife of John McSwiney Esq., Stipendiary Magistrate of Leguan, Demerara and second daughter of the late Capt WG Fulford, harbour-master of this port." Bahama Herald, 16 November 1850.
