Funeral Rites for Miss
Mary Fuller Saturday
———
Miss Mary Fuller died late Wednesday evening, Dec. 30, at the home of her brother, William Fuller, South Seventh St.
Mary Louise Fuller was born in Pike, Wyoming county, New York, on Mar. 14, 1852. She came west with her parents and seven brothers when she was about 5 years old. A brother was born to the family after they came to Wisconsin. She has lived in Delavan and vicinity for about 79 years.
Miss Fuller was brought up in a religious atmosphere. Her grandfather was a Baptist minister, who preached for a time in Darien and engaged in Colportage work out of Janesville. Her father, Cyrennus Fuller, was a deacon in the Delavan Baptist church for a number of years. Miss Fuller united with the Delavan church in 1867 when she was just 15 years old. She has, therefore, been a member of this church for nearly 70 years. Miss Fuller loved her church, and was faithful in attendance and contributed regularly to its support, doing whatever work she could in its several departments.
Funeral services were held from the Baptist church on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 2, at 2 o'clock, the Rev. John R. Estes officiating. Interment was in Spring Grove cemetery. Pallbearers were N. H. Cobb, Elmer Southwick, Arthur Horch, Claude Higgins, G. J. Lerwick and Henry Congdon.[2]
