Biography

James Fuller was born on 19 Dec 1804 in Boothbay, Lincoln, Maine to parents John Fuller and Rachel Auld. He married Eliza Hopper. Children: William Bainbridge, Rachel Ellen, James Franklin, Mary Lovina, John Adelbert. He died on 23 Jul 1864 in Osawatomie Township, Miami, Kansas.

He was buried in the Green Valley (Wells) Cemetery in Miami County, Kansas in an unmarked grave. He owned land across the road southeast of the cemetery. His physician, Dr. J.C. Prince, recorded the cause of death as "dropsical consumption and possible liver disease". Age at time of death: 59 years, 7 months, 4 days.

He was a farmer and stockman most of his life. He was a strong abolitionist and his sons participated in the "Border Wars - Bloody Kansas" as well as the Civil War.
