Biography

Louisa Fuller was baptised 9th February, 1840, in Dallington, Sussex, England, the daughter of William Fuller and his wife, Maria. [1]

Though recorded as the wife of Edward Jeffery in the 1861 census, it appears they did not actually marry until 1863. In 1863, their marriage was registered during the September quarter in the Tunbridge district. [2]

In the 1861 Census, Parish of Brenchley, Kent, Edward and Louisa reside at Little Kings Toll Cottage in the hamlet of Matfield. Edward Jeffery is the head of the household, a 20-year-old agricultural labourer, born Brenchley, Kent, while Louisa, assumed to be his wife, was aged 21 and born Dallington, Sussex. Also in the household is Maria J. Fuller, daughter, aged 2, born Battle, Sussex. [3][4]
