Biography

Bessie Rhoda Fuller was born in June of 1879 in Iowa. ^[1] to John Newell Fuller and Anna Eliza Hendricks Fuller. ^[2]

Bessie R. Fuller was married on June 21 1899 to Milton E. Spain in Adair, Iowa. (It is not yet certain whether Adair indicates the town, which is in Adair County, or Adair County.) Bessie was 20 years old, and Milton was 25. According to the record transcript, Milton's parents were "Alonzo F. Spain and Mirva Cole". Bessie's parents are given as John Fuller and Ann L. Hendrick.^[3]

Bessie R. Spain can be found on the 1900 US census for Thompson Twp., Casey town, Guthrie, Iowa with her husband, Milton E. Spain. According to the census, the couple had been married for one year. Bessie is shown as having given birth to one child, who was no longer living when the census was taken.

Bessie R. Spain can be found with her family on the 1910 US census for Thompson, Guthrie County, Iowa. At the time of the census, Bessie and Milton were the parents of three sons and two daughters.

Bessie Rhoda Fuller Spain died in 1918 and was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Adair County, Iowa. Son Robert Newel Spain in the Iowa, Delayed Birth Records, 1856-1940.
