CYRUS SACKETT FULLER, (John, Benjamin, Benjamin, John, Samuel, Edward) b. Oct 10, 1797, in Sharon, Ct; d. Sept. 26, 1867, at Bantam, Litchfield Co, Ct,; m. Nov. 20, 1823, Harriet Skiff, b. May 23, 1798, at Kent, Ct, d. Mar. 26, 1884, at Ellsworth, Ct. dau. Nathan and Abigail (Fuller) Skiff (Abigail Fuller, No. 1, 24th Group, Vol. 1).

Children, All b at Ellsworth, Ct. : I Amanda. b. Aug. 5, 1825, at Sharon, Ct., d. May 22, 1907, at Amenia, N.D.; m. Dec 31, 1844, Eben Whitney Chaffee, and had Alice Rebecca, b. Nov 3, 1843; Florence Adele, Feb. 4, 1849. Florence Adele Chaffee, m. Sept 22, 1870, John Horace Reed, and had, Walter Russell Reed, b. July 2, 1871, in Ellsworth, Ct.; m. II. Adelia Emma, b. Mar 13, 1841, at Sharon, Ct.; d. May 8, 1916, at Leedsville, NY.; m. June 8, 1876, as his second wife Jerome Seymour Chaffee. No issue. [2]

[Eben Whitney Chaffee] married in Sharon CT, December 31, 1844, Amanda Fuller, daughter of Cyrus Sackett and Harriet (Skiff) Fuller of that place. She was born in Sharon, August 5, 1825; and died in Amenia, ND, May 22, 1907. Amanda had a dark complexion, black eyes, and was five feet, nine inches in height. Amanda was a sister of Adelia Emma Fuller, who later married Eben's older brother Jerome.

Two daughters were born to Eben and Amanda Chaffee; Alice Rebecca on November 3, 1845; and Florence Adele on Feb. 4, 1849; and after twenty years of marriage, a son, Herbert Fuller, born on Nov. 20, 1865. Alice lived only 2 years, 10 months, and 16 days, dying on Sept. 19, 1848.

Children, all born in Ellsworth, Sharon, CT:

i. Alice Rebecca, born Nov. 3, 1845; died Sept. 19, 1848 in Ellsworth.

ii. Florence Adele, born Feb 4, 1849; died Apr. 9, 1881; married Sept. 22, 1870, John Horace Reed, son of Newton and Anna (Van Dyck) Reed of Amenia, NY. He was born Sept. 24, 1846; died Aug 24, 1925, In Amenia ND, and is buried there. She is buried in Ellsworth.

iii. HERBERT FULLER, born Nov. 20, 1865; died Apr. 15, 1912; married Dec. 21, 1887, Carrie Constance, daughter of George and Ellen (Board) Toogood of Manchester, Iowa. [3]

HERBERT FULLER CHAFFEE, son of Eben Whitney Chaffee and Amanda Fuller was born on Nov. 20, 1865 in Ellsworth, CT and died in the Titanic disaster on the North Atlantic Ocean April 15, 1912.

In July of 1885, Bert left Connecticut with his mother, Amanda, in a permanent move to Dakota Territory. She returned to CT in the fall, but the following May, with her young grandson Robert B. Reed, she also returned to reside permanently in Dakota. [6]

Robert [Birdseye] Reed moved from Connecticut to Amenia, Dakota Territory with his Grandmother Chaffee (Amanda Fuller Chaffee) at age 12 to join his father and his brother Walter, who had made the trip a year earlier. [9]

FLORENCE ADELE CHAFFEE, daughter of Eben Whitney and Amanda (Fuller) Chaffee, was born in Ellsworth, Sharon, CT, February 4, 1849; died shortly after the birth of her fourth child, in Ellsworth, CT April 9, 1881. [10]
