He married Johanna Sabrina Catherine Baker about 1866 in Northumberland and Durham, Ontario, Canada. Children: Deborah Anna Eva, Harvey James, Mary Etta, Ida Annie, Johanna Lucinda, Josephine, Mary Matilda, William John, Ethel May, George Washington, Oscar, Clarence, Samuel J, Alfred James. He died after 1911 in Ontario, Canada.
