Research by two Fulmer descendants state Jacob Fulmer Junior was married twice. They do not name his first wife and she has not been named in any South Carolina records. Mary Ann Leitz may not have been his first wife. His second wife was Elizabeth Able. A Christiana Wicker, daughter of John Adam Wicker, has erroneously been listed as a wife. Per John Wicker's will of 15 April 1807, Christiana was not married at the time he wrote his will and Jacob already children. The error that Christiana married Jacob Fulmer is attributed to a misreading of the estate papers of John Wicker. When John Wicker's wife died the estate was finally settled in 1836. By 1836 Christiana had married and her husband was listed as Jacob Fortner. Unfortunately, some misread the written name as Fulmer. (RHT)
Jacob's had four sons (John Nicholas, Adam, Jacob Walter, Daniel) by his first wife. The mother of his last two children (Jacob F., Mary Elizabeth) was Elizabeth Able. (RHT)
