Biography

Elizabeth was probably born in Lancaster County, where her father had settled in 1717.[1] Elizabeth married Samuel Boehm about 1742 or '43 soon after he had arrived in Virginia. They lived first in the Massanutten region but during the French and Indian War took refuge in Pennsylvania and upon returning to Virginia settle a few miles west of Strasburg in what is now Shenandoah County. Elizabeth's sister, Franey, was married to Peter Stover, and in 1761 Stover established the town of Strasburg on land he acquired from Jacob Funk Jr. Elizabeth Boehm was apparently an invalid in her later years and was cared for by several daughters who remained home to take care of her. Daniel Boehm, youngest son of Samuel and Elizabeth, made an agreement with his father that he would inherit the house and remaining land on condition that he provide for his parents in their final years.[2] The personal property was not to be sold until after the death of Elizabeth.[3] That sale was held August 10, 1803.[4]

Funk-1961 and Funk-971 appear to represent the same person because: Same information and same family relations.

Funk-971 and Funk-1065 appear to represent the same person because: They are two different profiles of Samuel Boehm's wife. Several of Samuel's profiles have already been merged and now it is necessary to merge those of his wife.
