Biography

Denise Yvonne Gagnon Perdue was born in 1959 on Hempstead AFB, Nassau County NY. Mitchell Field and Hempstead is now part of Hofstra University. My mother is German (Krauss) and my father French Canadian (Gagnon).

In 1980 my mother (Gloria Anne Krauss Gagnon) began documenting her family history. In the late 1990's before she died she had entered the information into a Roots software. Luckily before she died she printed several copies of all her research and sent me a copy. Last year, 2011, I paid for a membership to Ancestory.com and began putting our lineage online. Because of the cost I have stopped using Ancestory.com.

I took up the family research quest after my mother past away 13 years ago. She had began searching Gagnon, Garand, Kraus and Olman in the 1980's. I've added Perdue and Loftis to our family in the last few years. I'm looking forward to renewing the search.
