Margaret Ann Gainer Farnsworth, 81

EAST LIVERPOOL-Margaret Ann Gainer Farnsworth, wife of Theodore (Ted) W. Farnsworth Sr., passed away at East Liverpool City Hospital on Sunday, April 12, 2015.

81 years old, Margaret was born on Feb. 22, 1934 in Richwood, W.Va.; to the late Madge Duffield Gainer, formerly of Chester, and Dairest L. Gainer.

She graduated from the former Chester High School in 1953. All through high school she worked at Rock Springs Park in Chester.

She was a secretary for the Prayer Temple Tabernacle for 16 years until it closed in 1982. Margaret attended Ohio Valley Business College, and then became secretary for First Church of the Nazarene in East Liverpool for 21 years until her retirement in 2009.

She was a faithful member of the Destiny House Assembly of God Church in Calcutta.

Left to cherish Margaret's memories are husband Ted who she married on Sept. 23, 1955, their children, Ted (Fran) Farnsworth and Beth Darby of East Liverpool, Susan Murphy of Huntington, W.Va.; and Phillip (Brenda) Farnsworth of Salem, Ohio. Ten grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren survive as well.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons; Robert, Mark, and Timothy P. Farnsworth; two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Johnson, and Mrs. Patricia Little; her grandparents, Patrick and Rose Maude Duffield Sr. and Grover Gainer and her son-in-law, Thomas Murphy.

Her pastor, Cody Berry will celebrate her life at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Wednesday, April 15 at 1 p.m. and interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.
