Daniel was born in Hartford, Connecticut, between 1700 and 1705. He was the son of Daniel Gaines (1678-) and his first wife Mary Forbes.[1]
Daniel married first Eunice Gillett on 3 December 1728. Eunice died at Simsbury, Connecticut on 24 May 1740. Daniel married secondly Elizabeth (Hoskins) Gaines (abt.1721-) on 31 July 1741. The couple soon moved to Sheffield, Massachusetts.
