Biography

William Oliver Galloway was born May 29, 1895 in Transylvania County, North Carolina to father O.M. Galloway and mother Elizabeth Dunn.[1]

William O Galloway was enumerated as son of the head of household in Gloucester Township, Transylvania County, North Carolina for the June 7, United States Census, 1900. He was noted as born May 1895 in North Carolina and single as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Otho M Galloway, wife Elizabeth J Galloway, daughter Julian Galloway, daughter Solista O Galloway, daughter Fancy C Galloway and son Furman S Galloway.[2]

William O Galloway was enumerated as son of the head of household at Catheys Creek, Transylvania County, North Carolina for the April 18, United States Census, 1910. He was noted as born 1897 in North Carolina and single. He was a laborer (helps father saw cord wood) as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Otho M Galloway, wife Elisabeth J Galloway, daughter Julia A Galloway, daughter Fancy K Galloway, son Furman S Galloway, daughter Roxie E Galloway, son Joseph B Galloway and son J C Galloway.[3]

William Oliver Galloway Sr. was listed as the father of William Oliver Galloway Jr. who wed Norma Ann Ayers September 14, 1957 in Transylvania County, North Carolina. The mother was listed as Julia Mason. The bride's father was listed as Ticie Ayers Sr. and her mother Eva Phillips.[4]

William Oliver Galloway died September 20, 1960 in Rosman, Transylvania County, North Carolina. He was a train engineer and lived at Church Street in Rosman, Transylvania County, North Carolina. He was married and his wife was listed as Julia Mason.[1]

William Oliver Galloway is buried at Shoal Creek Cemetery in Transylvania County, North Carolina.[5]
