Daughters of the American Revolution
James Galloway Sr. is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A127567.

James Galloway was born circa 1760 and was living in Baltimore, Maryland at the time of the American Revolutionary War. James enlisted as a Private in the Captain John Eccleston's company, under the command of Colonel Thomas Price of the Second Maryland Regiment. [1]

James Galloway is honored for his military service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A127567. DAR records indicate that James died before August 5, 1834, in Lincoln county, Missouri and that his wife was Elizabeth Spraggins. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of their sons Elijah Galloway, who married Rebecca Laird; James Galloway, Jr. who married Ursula Lewis; and Charles Galloway, who married Mary Haney; and of their daughter, Leah Galloway, who married James A. Blackmore. [2]

Researchers Notes

https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/LY36-BNJ This profile indicates that James was christened March 31, 1754 in Scotland, the son of John Galloway Galloway-4809 and Marion Guild. Further research is required, because the FamilySearch profile has also been confused with James Gallaway who died 1798, in North Carolina: https://www.ncpedia.org/biography/gallaway-james

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/218812716/james-b-galloway: Find A Grave memorial indicates that he was baptized July 12, 1777, in Monifieth, Angus, Scotland. This would preclude him from being the son of John Galloway and Marion Guild
