The marriage license (records of Bishop of London 27 June 1632) stated that Robert Overton, gent, of Easington, Holderness County, Your, bachelor, aged 23, and Anne Gardiner, aged 16, daughter of Jeremy Gardiner of the same, gent., who consents. To marry at Little St. Bartholomew`s, London.[3]
From "The Overtons 700 Years," by Nan Overton West:
CHARACTER BEYOND REPROACH
Anne and her husband Robert Overton most assuredly had a marriage that would be the envy of all. Writings indicate that she was an extremely self-reliant woman and quite willing to assume the role of head of household in her husband's absences. That Robert spent a great deal of his time in prison grieving the loss of her companionship while immortalizing her in his poems speaks volumes about their relationship. When Robert became seriously ill while in prison in 1658, Anne left her home to attend to his needs. Anne died of cancer after a long illness, while Robert was imprisoned. In his will, Robert asked to be buried near his wife, but this did not happen.

Robert Overton my 9th grandfather on my fraternal side all the way back through Overton to Parkinson to Wilson
Will add more when I have it
Hope this helps
You have two Baptisms..the one at St Clements, is wrong..then the multiple birth dates are all wrong. She was born in London Middlesex. Not Virginia! Please delete all the surplus false info.
He would have been extremely clever to have married Elizabeth after his death!
Gardiner-132 and Gardiner-1441 appear to represent the same person because: This match was originally rejected because one profile had a reference to Robert Overton and his wife settling in Virginia in 1681. Since Overton died in 1679 this could not be correct. The incorrect source has been removed and this merge should be completed. Both Robert Overton and his wife Ann/Anne Gardiner were born and died in England.
Gardiner-132 and Gardiner-1441 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate. Robert Overton is noted as Ann/Anne's husband in both profiles.
There is much more information available in Biography & Sources, but try as I might, I was not able to make it magically appear! When you go into Edit, it will all be there, but does not translate. Not sure if I should to to G2G, but please let me know what I did wrong.
