Biography

Merab "Meribah" Gardner was born on July 7, 1769, in Nantucket, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Joseph Gardner and Abigail Clark.[1]

She married William Chase on August 13, 1789.[2] They had:[3][4]

  1. Mary, b. 25 Dec 1797; m. Benjamin Ray
  2. Emeline, b. 24 Mar 1805; m. (1) Thomas Clasby; m. (2) William Gayer Macy
  3. Charles G., b. 6 Jan 1809

She died on November 20, 1820, in Nantucket, Massachusetts.[5]
