Biography

Lula E. Lowry was born in 1855 in York County, South Carolina. She was the daughter of James M. Lowry, farmer, born about 1818, and his wife Louisa, born about 1822[1].

She married John Robert Gardner before 1880[2]. Known Children:

  1. Maude Montague Gardener (1879-1969) She never married, her profession was as a registered nurse.
  2. James Lowry Gardener (1881-1934)married Katherine Baird; had 4 children.

She was widowed before 1900 and lived with her children and her father[3].

She died in October 1900 and was interred in the Rose Hill Cemetery, York, York county, South Carolina, USA. [4]
