"Nathaniel, capt. so called in a letter of Josiah Franklin, 14 July 1760, an original member in 1708", husband of Abigail (daughter of James Coffin Sr. and Mary), son of Richard and Sarah Shattuck, born 16th 11 mo. 1665. P.R. 38[1]
He married Abigail Coffin in 1686 in Nantucket.[2]
Nathaniel Gardner made his will 18 January 1710/11, directing his estate be equally divided among his children , but the division not to be made until all had arrived at legal age. The profits from his estate were to be used to support the youngest children until that time. The will was presented for probate 13 May 1713. A 1716 inventory of the estate valued its quarter-share of land at 180 pounds.[3]
