Biography
Mary Gardiner was born about 1869.
At 17, she married Oliver James Hawker in Malmsbury, Victoria in 1885.
She passed away in Jugiong, NSW at the age of 72 in 1962 and is buried at the Jugiong cemetery along side her husband and son Gilbert.
Research Notes
Marriage record gives the name of the wife of Oliver James Hawker as Mary Ann Gardiner. Death record gives parents as Joseph and Hannah.
No birth record can be found on NSW or Victorian BDM registers for a Mary Gardiner or Gardner with parents of Joseph or Hannah. It is possible that Mary was married previously so Gardiner may not be her birth name.
