Biography

John Maddison Garrard was christened on 29 September 1819 in Tynemouth, Northumberland, England. His parents were Robert and Margaret Garrard. ^[1]

He married Margaret Hadingham on 04 June 1854 in Tynemouth. ^[2] Both John and Margaret had been married previously. ^[3] Margaret is listed as the daughter of Robert Brownlee.

The children of John and his wife Margaret included:

• Margaret Louisa Garrard, born 18 Jul 1856 and chr. 03 August 1856 in Tynemouth ^[4], who married Robert Cuthbertson in 1875 ^[5]
• Emily Frances Brownlee Gararrd, b c 1859, who married William Brown in 1877 ^[6]
• John M Garrard, born c 1862
• Elizabeth Gerrard, chr. 12 Feb 1865 in North Shields, Northumberland ^[7]
• Sarah Jane Garrard, chr. 26 May 1867 in North Shields, Northumberland ^[8]

John died in the third quarter of 1896 in the district of Tynemouth. ^[11]
