Mary was born in 1873 to George Garrett and Kate Robinson. She is a great x2 granddaughter of Leonard M Garrett, Revolutionary War veteran and progenitor of this Garrett line. Between 1940-1950, she moved from Arkansas to California. Mary passed away in 1950 at 77 years old.

Mary A. Garrett Phillips was born in Johnson County, Arkansas to George W. Garrett and Catherine Frances Robinson Garrett. She married Andrew Jackson Phillips in 1890 in Washington County, Arkansas where she and Andrew lived and raised their children. Although, Mary and Andrew divorced sometime while still residing in Arkansas, her death certificate states she is a widow. Mary moved to California after 1940 where her children resided. She is buried next to her daughter Hester J. Fancher, with daughter Daisy next to Hester and son Walter Clyde next to Daisy. All in a row.
